This colorful, casual, comfortable cottage is perfect for families who love simple beach living. The décor is inviting with slipcovers, tropical bedrooms and soothing shades of the ocean.
Walk into the garage at street level where they are two large camp style private showers, one for the girls and one for the boys. One of the shower areas has a deep farmhouse style sink also. From here you go into the downstairs living area which has a queen bedroom. This level has a full bath with a shower with a rustic raised wooden floor. In addition, there is a large room with a sitting area and bunk beds (a twin over a full) and a single bed. This room has a TV and opens onto a private backyard. A washer and a dryer are also on this level. The downstairs is cooled/heated by window units.
Go up 14 steps to the main living quarters. Here you will find a spacious master king bedroom with a TV and a private bathroom with a shower. There is another king bedroom with a small crib, and a third bedroom with a queen bed. There is second full bath on this floor with a shower/tub combination.
The open living/dining/kitchen area, with a TV and a dining room table for six, opens onto a spacious screened porch. Although not ocean front, there is a spectacular ocean view. There are numerous wicker chairs, chaises, rockers, and a sofa where everybody can relax and enjoy beach breezes as well as the view. You can dine out here also as there is a picnic type table with benches and a small table and chairs for the kids.
There is outside space to park three cars, and a fourth car can be parked under the garage.

Overall, the house was conveniently located, comfortable and relaxing. What it lacked in luxuries was more than made up with the relaxed comfort. I loved sitting on the screened in porch, reading a book, and listening to the windchime. My only issue - and it was VERY, VERY minor - was that the showers in the carport area (for rinsing off sand from the beach) were either cold or HOT with no working way to adjust the water temp. The kitchen could use some "weeding out" of some dishes and utensils. None of the knives were sharper than a butter knife. Again, minor inconveniences and nothing that put a damper on our vacation. One very nice thing about the kitchen was the large variety of spices in the cupboard so we did not have to buy a full container when we only needed a pinch of this or that. The master suite was large and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, the whole house just felt kind of like we had borrowed a family member's house while they were out of town. That, to me, is very comfortable and relaxing.
A very enjoyable stay, everything we needed was available on site, beach just a few yards away. All members of our family were extremely satisfied and enjoyed their stay. We would recommend the properties to friends. Thank you,it was a great family experience.
At this beach house, you do not have to worry about traffic when the kids are going to the beach. Such a short walk to the beach. Really enjoyed the stay. Close to the beach, store, pier and lighthouse.
6 on 6th was a terrific beach cottage for our Family of 10. The cottage had a very relaxed and coastal atmosphere, and was only a short step to the beach. To be with my Grandson when he experiences the beach and ocean for the first time was a delight. Great location to several terrific restaurants and a short drive to the historical city of Savannah. Everyone loved the Hearse Ghost Tour!!!
Weather was a little cold in March. Would suggest waiting until April.
Jim Heflin was an excellent agent to work with. We will definitely come back to 6 on 6th again.
